Embo Exhibit.
Today my paintings have left my wee flat and have landed at the wonderful Embo Deli at Elm Row Edinburgh. They will be exhibited in Embo for a month and I highly recommend a visit as their food is delicious and what a wonderful quirky cafe.

Oil Paints
So i've never painted with oils before but i bought a wee set and had a go. Once i have a proper set I dont I think ill go back to acrylic again. Oil is so much harder to work with but the result is amazing. Dont think this is a very good photo but the atmosphere and finish is just wonderful. So smooth.

Lightening House.
Ive ran out of blue paint for just now so the seas and sky's are out of fashion for just now. This painting is sadly already sold but just letting you all have a wee look. Its a light house in a lightening storm. Canvas was 4 different paintings before this final outcome so the paint is very thick and textured.

This is the first of a series of little paintings im going to put up for sale at around £25. They will be great for christmas presents. They are about A5 in size and painted with acrylic on canvas.

So after the weekends excitement its back to studying and painting. This is a little (huge) something im working on. Basically i want it to be a really cloudy sky with a cheeky bird but all sort of smudged to make it look like its raining. This is the idea anyways...quite often i start off painting something and it comes out an entirely different thing. I feel this one may take all week so ill keep you all posted on how its going.

Parisa.
This is another peacock painting. I work from imagination so i seem to end up painting the same things. I names this painting Parisa as the name means bird of paradise and it is also my best friends name. I like the colours but would have like a few warmer tones to be present. I may go back to this painting to touch it up.
Bliss
I textured this canvas before i painted on it using thick lines of acrylic paint. I then painted over this which gives it an nice rough look. Due to the camera quality i dont think it is obvious in this picture. There is not much in the painting but i felt it was finished and i try to stick with my instinct with paintings in fear i may over work them.

House
I painted this today and called it "House". I havent painted a nights sky including a moon in a while but i really like how this one has worked out. Its only a wee canvas but very cute. In my latest paintings i have started using paintbrushes and you can see how this changes the texture of the painting. My most current images are a lot smoother with much finer detail.

Peacock
Calm and Choppy
As I've only just started this blog I'll have to go back in time with my paintings. I painted this piece on the 10th of September for my boyfriends flat warming present. He created a song to go with it so I will include a link to that for those interested. I'm happy my creativity influenced someone else. It was not taken from any images but from my imagination. To create texture i used bits of cardboard, a pallet knife, rollers and blended with my fingers... who needs paintbrushes.
